Tinnitus, Meniere’s Syndrome and Ear Ringing Sensation

Posted on Jul 16, 2009 under Reviews | 2 Comments

I used to go to sleep with my earphones on with my mp3 player, even though I would literally fall asleep within minutes. The problem with that was that I was falling asleep with loud music playing and sometimes slept on my sides. It was not until I heard about Tinnitus and Meniere’s Syndrome that I realized how bad of an idea that was.

There are many diseases in the world that I’m unaware of, but one that I didn’t think was that common was Tinnitus or Meniere’s Syndrome. In fact, 50 million people suffer from this strange disease. Fortunately, it has been something that has been addressed and nutritional/dietary supplements like Lipo-Flavonoid have helped people cope with and even end symptoms of Tinnitus and Meniere’s Syndrome.

Tinnitus

Tinnitus is a condition of the perception of sounds with no external source present. Obviously, this is subjective since others in the same room won’t hear the same thing as a person with Tinnitus. People have been known to hear things like whooshing, pulsing, sensation, buzzing and chirping as well as crashing waves on an ocean shore. Now it’s fun to go to the beach and listen to the waves once in a while or wake up to the sounds of birds chirping, but imagine hearing that 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! It would drive anybody crazy, including me!!

Meniere’s Syndrome

Meniere’s Syndrome can be characterized by the following symptoms:

  • Episodes of vertigo or dizziness
  • Fluctuating, progressive, low-frequency hearing loss
  • Tinnitus
  • A sensation of fullness

The inner ear has many canals that separate different fluids and if any of those canals are ruptured and the fluids mix, the microscopic hair cells in the inner ear stiffen or get bent or broken. Those hair cells are very important to hearing and staying balanced.

Scientists aren’t sure how canal rupture occurs but damage to the hairs and canals can be caused by:

  • Age-related hearing loss: I’m not old: OK
  • Trauma: I do use in-ear headphones and listen to the music at a high volume: Not OK
  • Wax buildup: I use Q-tips after shower, which may also be trauma: Not OK
  • Ear/sinus infections: Never had: OK
  • Cardiovascular disease: I run.. OK

Lipo-Flavonoid

Lipo-Flavonoid is a dietary supplement that has been designed specifically for people with tinnitus and Meniere’s Syndrome. It helps keep the inner ear canals healthy and allows it to flow better. This over-the-counter supplement is more than safe, and includes many vitamins (B, C, bioflavonoids, niacin, riboflavin, etc) that we need to consume on a daily basis.

Studies have been made on the effectiveness of Lipo-Flavonoid, which you can read about here. I have been told that about “7 out of 10 tinnitus patients have some degree of improvement from tinnitus when taking the product as directed.”

Reading about Tinnitus and Meniere’s Syndrome has made me more aware of the dangers of things like listening to music too loudly or using Q-tips too often. Even though I would never want a disease like that, it’s good to know about products like Lipo-Flavonoid that can help with this disease.
