Yantra Mat, Acupressure Mat Product Review

I was given the opportunity to test and review the Yantra Mat, an acupressure mat, designed to increase blood flow and circulation to provide a sense of relaxation and pain relief. It’s a pretty simple product: a cotton mat with 8820 acupressure contact points on 210 spiked flowers. So what is acupressure? Acupressure is a traditional Chinese medicine technique which applies physical pressure to the body’s acupoints to help aid the elimination of stress and pain. By stimulating the body’s natural curative abilities, acupressure also works as a preventative therapy and is a safe and effective complement to healing methods.

Yantra Mat Features

  • Relieves stress, aches and pains
  • Reduces muscle tension
  • Improves sleep
  • Increases energy levels
  • Easy to clean and very portable

When I first used the Yantra Mat, I was surprised at the simplicity of the product. And even worse, I did not know that the spiked flowers hurt so much when you touch them with your fingers. All my doubts went away when I actually used the Yantra Mat. At first it hurt a little too much, so I tried to cover the flower spikes with a pillow case. That didn’t work too well because I didn’t feel anything after that! But trying it again with just a cotton t-shirt on, I was able to stay on the mat comfortably. Immediately after laying on the Yantra Mat, my back started to feel better. I used it a couple more times and actually fell asleep for about an hour after one of my runs (something that Yantra tells you might happen!) I have used it many more times since and it’s a great way to relax my muscles after a hard run or bike ride. My entire body feels better after each session and I have been able to lie on the Yantra Mat for longer periods of time. I still haven’t built up the tolerance to use the Yantra Mat without a shirt on. But hopefully when I do, it will benefit me even more!
