JVC HA-ETR40 Extreme Fitness Headphone Review

HA-ETR40-RI have a short list of requirements when it comes to sport headphones, but I would think the primary function would be sweat/waterproof and being able to actually stay in my ears. I have spent way too much money on headphones because they would either stop working (just in one ear) because sweat would get into them, or would never stay secure inside my ear. Those seem like simple needs, but not all headphones can meet those requirements.

The JVC HA-ETR40 Extreme Fitness headphones that can possibly fit the bill. Like other headphones, these are waterproof, and can be washed as well, which is a plus. But they are designed so that the eargel can actually pivot to fit your specific ear shape. The pivoting motion creates a secure, and comfortable fit. This model also has a built in microphone and remote control, so you can take calls if needed (although I rarely take calls during a workout or run).

Here are some additional information about the JVC HA-ETR40 Extreme Fitness headphones:

  • A soft, rotating rubber hook that holds them securely in place and can be adjusted to get the perfect fit;
  • Two sets of earpieces — conventional that seal out ambient noise (in three sizes) and “open type” (also in three sizes) that allow ambient sounds to be heard so runners can hear the sound of approaching vehicles, etc.
  • Two-piece cord — Use the short cord if you wear your phone/music player on your arm, and so avoid the hassle of excess cord; use the extension if you carry your phone in your hand or pocket
