When it comes to a heart rate monitor, there are just a few things that the product needs to do to be a successful product. The first is that it works. You need to be able to connect it to your smartphone and/or watch without any issues. I’ve tried other heart rate monitors that I couldn’t even connect my phone to. I wasn’t sure if it was a dead battery, the problem with heart rate monitors is that there usually isn’t an on/off switch. My phone would just constantly search for the heart rate monitor but cannot find it. With the Beets Blu Heart Rate Monitor, I was able to add the battery and immediately connect to the device on my phone and later on with my GPS watch. Once you have it connected, you want to make sure it accurately tells your heart rate. I tested the product while going on a short run and during a workout at the gym. Both times, I was able to use my heart rate monitor and have it tell me my heart rate when I needed it and accurately. Even better was that it connected with apps that I’m already used to using like Endomondo.
