Janji, Run for Another
Running apparel that helps fight the food and water crisis
What is Janji? Think Tom’s Shoes, but for running apparel and across multiple countries around the world (including here in the States!). When you purchase a piece of apparel from Janji, a portion of proceeds funds organizations that are alleviating the worst problems related to food and water. They are providing basic necessities that we take for granted like water, medicine and food to Bangladesh, Haiti, Kenya, Peru, Rwanda, Tanzania and the United States. And it’s amazing how purchasing one piece of apparel from Janji will help these countries. For example, each piece of Janji’s Tanzania apparel provides 10 years of drinking water to 3 people in Tanzania! That should be a good enough reason to purchase something from Janji. Most people factor in price, looks and function when it comes to apparel, now you can factor in how it can help a developing country too.
I got the opportunity to try and test out a piece of apparel from Janji and I’d definitely recommend it to others. Putting the social impact it would provide to others around the world, it is a really comfortable pair of shorts. I got the Men’s Haiti Running Shorts and look forward to wearing them more often, hopefully to spread the word about Janji. They are a nice shade of blue, with this red stripe down one side and drawing from the Haiti flag. They are super light, reminding me of the race shorts I used to wear in races in high school cross country and track. I highly recommend runners check out their website to learn more about the company, the social movement they’re promoting and all of the great organizations they’re working with to provide for others that are less fortunate in this world.
