The New Balance 768 has already been replaced by the New Balance 769. I have also seen the New Balance 760 which will be the latest update coming in Dec 2009. The 760 is elite. Check out my site at www.nbannapolis.com

@CoachTief Thanks for the tips on when to get new shoes. Now I can use the dating of this post along with my running log on dailymile.com to know exactly when I will need new shoes.

You're right about Nikes being too narrow and I enjoyed running in Asics as well. I still haven't had a pair of Saucony shoes yet, let me know how they turn out for you.

Getting new running shoes is important every 350-500 miles. Plus it is nice to have a pair of sparkly sneakers. I used to run in Asics all the time, but my current pair is Saucony. I went to a running specialty store and that is what the worker recommended. I've worn New Balance too. The only shoes that don't work for me are Nike. Too narrow!

@lindsay Thanks! I was asked to be a rabbit during a track meet once and wore these bright yellow spikes to give off the illusion that I was really fast. Unfortunately, they didn't take the bait..

I should have known better, but I really didn't think I would be running consistently and just get lazy and stop.
