What a great idea. Running touches your soul, and it's only those who've been in the trenches with you who can touch it.

i have an old journal-book of quotes from college myself. always on the lookout for new, fire-lighting quotes! those were great messages from your old teammate and coach. hope you find many more good ones to add to the list.

I ran hard surface and trails for 30 years. I especially loved running in the Wilderness trail areas of Western Montana, although you have to dodge a lot of horse and mule pack trains. I miss that all now. My ankle lost all the cartilage, and my ankle muscles and ligaments stretched out. I have no control over the ankle anymore and wear a prosthetic brace up to just under my knee. I'm 61 and my message is to enjoy every day your run, rain or shine. Life is kind of dull when you lose your ability.
